[REQUEST] iPhone Background App Refresh Not Working

Has not worked in a long time.

Fresh iOS setup as new on an iPhone 13 Pro.

Biggest problem: I leave open Facebook Messenger or Google Voice, which I also use on the computer. I use it on the computer. I go back to the apps and have to wait a moment for them to update. I watch messages in Messenger disappear (deleted messages) and new ones appear. Pretty annoying. I wish I could open the app and everything is all up-to-date.

Solutions online don't help.

Have not tried resetting anything as that doesn't seem like it could help given the options:

- All settings
- Network settings
- Keyboard dictation
- Home screen layout
- Location & privacy

Yep. You can’t change how iOS multitasking works.

I assume you are getting notifications for messages just that the screen has to refresh when you bring the app back to the foreground.
