iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy s III

Honestly I think most "techs" lie to themselves about not liking Apple products. Maybe they don't like the kinds of people they see with Apple products or the company policies, but secretly they drool over the products. Or they try to convince themselves that another product is better...lol I know this because I see it every day. I use to be like that too.

Yeah, that's what it is. Dammit, I've been wondering why I was drooling.

OP, go to the store and play with both phones. Make a call, send a text, browse some sites, and, if you can, install an app. Purchase the one you like the most. You really can't go wrong with either one. Regardless of Tim Cooke's apology and regret, or fanboyism, your preference will still be subjective. So get the one you like.

Well said. Find what works bet for you the way you wanna use your phone. Honestly if you are own a Mac the iPhone is a no brainer because of its strong integration. But at the end of the day get what you like.

You keep telling yourself that.

You keep telling yourself that.

See it all the time. On forums and in person. I'll ask someone why they don't like Apple and they will tell me about the fanboys and about Apple being locked down, walled garden , Price ,blah, blah, blah. When it's all said and done they have given me lots of reasons they don't buy apple products but haven't actually told me whats wrong with them. Or how the other product is better. Its completely Irrational. Generally speaking the people who hate on Apple products are either spec tards (meaning they think no matter what OS is running its got to be better because it has more RAM and Higher clock speeds) or they are simply basing what they say on stuff they have heard. Both reasons ignore all logic. Oh, then there is the whole "you can't upgrade Macs" This is total bs as you and I both know as is the "can't play games" argument. Its true that Macs are Generally not as a upgradable as the PC but MOST people don't put in a new video card every 6 months. PC gamers do and they also make up a very, very small % of computer users.

Just the other day I was talking with the guy who owns my dojo and he was getting ready to upgrade phones. I told him to check out the iPhone 5. He said without blinking that from everything he had heard the Samsung S3 was better all around. I told him he had been lied to by some pretty ignorant people. I then sent him links to all the videos I have posted here as well as the actual speed tests. After that he was pretty ****** at the people who had been giving him the bad advice.

Generally speaking the people who choose Apple products fall into one of two categories. The first are the hipsters who want to make a fashion statement and the second are people who prefer the user experience of Apple products. These people are usually former or current Windows users. They learned a long time ago its not all about more and more specs but more about the OS working in a way that make sense to them. They enjoy a sense of security in knowing 99.999% of all malware and 100% of viruses effect the Windows running PC.

Anyway, as I already said. At the end of the day its about what works best for you. But don't base what you choose off what a few misinformed fanboys on either side say.

Nah. I really do not like apple products. Have no interest in buying any for my own use. I prefer android stuff.

I freaking hate itunes in all shapes and forms. It just annoys me. Always has.

Its swings and roundabouts. A person would have to be a bit of a tool to say that apple doesnt make great products. thats definitely true.

But that doesnt mean that if everyone was 'honest' with themselves, they would love them like you do.

I like coffee. Other people prefer tea.

Really. Its OK to differ on this point.

Thank goodness for your insight, I was almost ready to head to the ER in fear that the drool was from a TIA, or maybe even a full-blown stroke. You busted us, every single one of us, we are all closet Apple fanatics. <hangs head in shame>

:D

No, it is not! Coffee fanboys and cream-tards keep blabbing on about the supposed "advantages" of coffee, but they tell nothing but lies! I think they secretly love tea, but they're too afraid of being branded a tea-sipper. I can prove that tea is better. There are whole books written on the culture of tea! Check out The Book of Tea. It's one of the tea classics! (BTW, do a search for "coffee classics" on Wikipedia and let me know what you get lol.) All you can quote is a bunch of Starbucks barristas who wouldn't know good tea if it was poured down their throats. They think coffee is so great because they've never even tried tea.

I saw this guy at MacDonalds once, and he was saying he was going to get a coffee because all his "drink-savy" friends told him it was better. I bought him a tea then and there, and he realized it was the best thing he ever tasted! He was so furious at his so-called "friends" for lying to him, and now he only drinks tea.

I get so sick of the lies spread about tea by you coffee fanboys, and I'm not going to stay silent about it any longer!

Disclaimer: any resemblance between the above rant and advocacy for a company named after a fruit is entirely coincidental. :p

You seem like a reasonable fella. When you say you like Android I'm sure its because it works better for you. I don't like iTunes either. Most of the jackasses spouting off here are doing so not because they have any personal experience with Apple devices. They are simply parroting what the hear others say instead of making informed choices. Lats face it, its cool to hate on Apple right now. Most people ae so scared of being called a fanboy they will avoid saying they like any apple product.

And again gunslinger resorts to name calling and is about to get another thread closed..

I understand, when you have no valid argument, you have go resort to personal attacks..

And you're right, I've replaced screens on almost every Apple toy, but never used one... ;)

You must think you horse is pretty damned high.

Post of the year. :p

I used an iPhone 4s for about 6 months to get to know it better as I do sell a lot of iphones and need to be able to answer software related questions faster......

for ME I was VERY happy to switch to an Android, the lack of customization was a big thing for me, as well as the camera (wasn't impressed), lack of voice nav (now fixed), no swype (although tbh I never searched for a 3rd party app), the integration with some of my tools (software) wasn't there, I HATE iTunes, graphically it was only so-so, flash issues, lack of expandability, proprietary cable (yes it makes me mad that they can't use a Micro USB cable like everyone else) no HDMI output (without adapters), no menu button (I use the death out of that thing), no USB options (need mac adapters), google voice integration is almost non-existent, screen size is another biggie.... I LIKE large screens! sue me if you want!, and finally the clincher is probably that as a retailer/cellular company Apple is a PITA to deal with, no profit margins, pita for warranties (as a 3rd party carrier), and the fact that until just recently you had to HACK the phone to be able to use it on another network (we now can do factory unlocks starting at $30).

So those are MY personal issues with the iPhone.......
Now when customers ask about them, I tell them they are a VERY solid phone, easy to fix, tons of accessories and overall solid devices.

Best way to put it. Same here I used an ipod touch for awhile to learn ios and before I sent it to the inlaws family in Mexico. There solid devices but didn't have the ability to customise it like an android and to really make it your own, the way you want it to be.

Wow, that was brilliant. Perfectly sums up the direction these conversations tend to take. ZX81? Ha! C64 hands down!
