ipad/ihone error 53

i just noticed there is another thread started by someone else today about this sorry!

The article says they don't know what repairs cause the error 53, but it is exclusive to the home button/fingerprint scanner damage. Me and a couple other people have looked at these "I didn't do anything with the home button" people and its always been a damaged or non-original home button.

The problem is iOS9 and Apple's security measures (which some suspect are revenue measures): https://ifixit.org/blog/7889/whats-up-with-error-53/

I never change the home button or home button cable because of the fingerprint sensor. Now I will definitely not mess with it even upon request. Nice little tidbit of information, thanks!

Theres a ton of talk on iFixit's Pro Tech forum. Basically its just BS that its a security measure, as it doesn't make the phone any more secure at all.

This is currently just for the iPhone 6 and 6s. The iPhone 5s can have the button switched out if needed but TouchID simply won't work. It won't brick the phone, thats just something Apple decided to do starting with the 6.
