I have a client getting this error but there's is the only network device on the network.

Anyone see that before?

1. reset the router
2. upgrade the firmware
3. change the ssid and enable security.
4. set a static IP for his machine.

Possible causes.
Invalid IP table in the router.
Another (neighbor) leeching on the router.
Firmware fault.

Never seen it where there is only one device. Maybe have a look at the router logs and see what devices it recognised. If there are two devices they should show in the logs with seperate mac addresses.

If there was once another network card in the system with a static IP sometimes windows will hold that IP. Especially if the system was once using Internet connection sharing.

I had a windows 2000 server that would do this all the time. Make sure you turn off Internet connection sharing if its on. Also you can change the network from 192.168.0.* to 192.168.1.* or vice a versa.
