Hey guys I am looking for some input on my yellow page ad.

Do people still use the Yellow pages?

In regard to your ad - is your YP in colour? - the reason I ask; is that the actual way the design appear, or will it be monochrome?

(hope this isnt a dumb question - where I live we have both)

Yes its a color ad. I am hopping it will look exactly like this but the white in my logo will not be true white so its hard to say.

The domain name www.CyberCPU.com looks a bit stretched out to me. But other than that, I think this will be a fantastic ad for you! Please let us know how you do with it.

What do you mean by stretched out. If you could post a screenshot and your browser specs I would appreciate it.

"Slow Computer Tuneups"....

Does that mean you take a long time to do the tuneups, or are you tuning up slow computers?

Perhaps just "Computer Tuneups" would be better? Why would you tune up a "Fast" computer? :p

You know I never noticed that. Your right, it could be interpreted as taking a long time to finish. I will change that before I submit it.

That might explain why i only got 3 calls on my half business card ad last year. This year I figured I would make it stand out more and make it a full business card size. I am also going with a completely different book.

Yeah its a cool ad. I see your point about the URL font though.

There are 5 different variants:

Cyber & PH# (italic)
Description of services
Areas
Mobile support (stretched)
URL (stretched)

OP, I dont think the stretching is a browser artifact. The font has been compressed vertically. So has 'mobile support'. I dont think this matters in itself, but I do think getting the fonts more consistent would improve the overall look of the ad..

If I was designing it, I would keep all the top section the way it is, but unify all of the lettering under the description. This would make the business name stand out more, and look neater IMO.

I see what you are saying, I thought you meant the website had a problem. The domain name in the ad was flattened on purpose. I did it a while back on an ad that I wanted the domain in but was out of room and though it looked cool. I have been doing that ever since.

Here's two more cents . . .

Do you also repair laptops? If so, mention it. If a competitor's ad specifically mentions laptops and yours does not, who will probably get that call?

Change "Adware and Virus Removal" to "Virus and Adware Removal". Give emphasis to the moneymaker. I've never had anyone ask me to remove "adware" - everything's a "virus". For that matter, I'd drop the mention of adware altogether.

Do you perform data recovery? If so, try to find room to mention it.

Of course you don't want to junk up your ad too much - and in fact I think it looks quite nice overall. Only suggesting you don't omit any of the "Big 5"; Computer/Laptop Repair, Virus Removal, Data/File recovery, Tuneups, wired/wireless networking.

Looks good to me, the blue and yellow seem a bit bright together, but since you have the "yellow print" it will lessen the contrast. Should be ok!

My ad was really dense once it got to print.

I tried to make a focal point on mine (the clock and fast service headline). I'm getting a much better response vs last years ad that was more like yours. Everyone does pretty much the same thing so your list of services doesn't need to be prominent, it just needs to be there to confirm to customers that you do what they need. Your main goal is to attract the eyes of the reader first. If you have the space use more descriptive text though. My ad is really small so I sacrificed complete sentences :)
