Import outlook express to oulook 2007 from another machine/flashdrive

I have googled this can't seem to get outlook express imported into outlook 2007 from an OE store from another machine on a flashdrive.
the original machine was xp new one has oulook 2007 is win 7.

I don't think I've ever gone that direct route. I know I've gone OE->Outlook on the same system and then imported the PST into the new system.

It says it can't find anything to import it just looks for the data does not have a browse folder option.

I didn't know it can be done with Windows Live, I've always used Thunderbird.

That's the only way to do it that I'm aware of.

Yes the above is the way to go either:
- transfer to Outlook on the origiabnl machine and then copy the PST across.
- or copy across the .dbx files, import into Windows Mail. Then from Windows Mail export to Outlook. The trick here is to select Export -> Messages and then select Exchange and follow the steps.

One step often overlooked: Create a dummy account in Outlook, if there is no pst file on the new installation the Windows Mail export process goes astray at the "Browse" option.
No dummy account = no account available in the selection list when exporting.
Without a dummy account it will appear to go through some very quick processes but will go nowhere.

I'm appaled and quite frankly angry by how difficult it is to backup/transfer Outlook accounts/emails to the point where I cringe with dread when the customers tells me he/she indeed uses outlook/express.

Why the hell isn't there a utility that will transfer everything, not just accounts, but emails, user-created folders, calenders.... WHY NOT?????

Oh and don't get me started with the compatibility issues between all the bloody versions.

I HATE OUTLOOK WITH A PASSION.

I've got one Friday to Outlook 2010 on a new pc. I'm looking doing it your way
