Trying to import Chrome bookmarks from Fabs backup V4
I see the default folder in Chrome but don't know how to import.

In firefox there is a folder with backups

What I have backed up is the Chrome folder in Appdata/ local

Don't see how it can be imported it would be same in V6 I think copies the same folder

@johnrobert , if you do not want to restore the entire Google Chrome profile but just the bookmarks, you should be able to do it by copying back the "Bookmarks" file (you can copy the "Bookmarks.bak" file too, just in case) from the "Path_To_Your_Backup\archive\Google Chrome\Default" folder and paste it to the "%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default" folder.

@fabs anyway to have the autobackup6pro.exe outside the main FABS folder? I tried using a shortcut created on my iODD but with different drive letters on different machines, it never works.

What I want on my 500GB SSD iODD is just fabs by itself with 3 items. The Backup folder, the autobackup6pro.exe and the actual FABS folder.

Ideally, what would be awesome is when I plug the iODD (or thumbdrive) into a machine, FABs would auto start. Found some ini scripts but none ever work.

Such as:

[AutoRun]
OPEN=autobackup6pro.exe
ICON=autobackup6pro.exe
ACTION=Start FABs
LABEL=Fabs Auto Backup

Why not putting all the Fab’s AutoBackup folder's content at the drive's root? That should do the trick right?

You can also make your autorun.inf file like this:
Code:
[autorun]
open=autobackup6pro\autobackup6pro.exe
icon=autobackup6pro\autobackup6pro.exe
Not tested, that is just an idea

Tried it. I failed to mention that the autorun.ini works with Windows 7 and lower, but for Windows 10, not a chance. I cannot figure out why because I can put a CD software in a DVD drive and it fires right up and I even copied an entire CD to a USB drive after formatting to NTFS with MBR and it doesn't work.

I have never played with that, so, my experience cannot speak. I guess it works fine with DVDs since optical discs could be used like that since years ago and it still handy today. I guess that hard drives (by extension USB drives too) cannot autorun because of malware using autorun to spread. Microsoft may just have disabled it for writable media.

In Windows 7 things works very differently. The support for AutoRun has been considerably reduced for USB flash drives and other non-optical removable media. There is no way to start a program automatically or add a program to the AutoPlay action list if the media type is a USB flash drive or a non-optical removable media. For an optical media as CD or DVD the support is still as before, but the support for a USB drives is now very limited. Actually, the only things you can do, when using the AutoRun technology, is to change the drive label or change the icon (these changes will be shown in AutoPlay dialog box), but the rest of the functionality has been disabled.

Virtual CD-Rom. By all purposes, it SHOULD work because Windows 10 identifies it as a CD/DVD drive.
I am sure this is a Windows stuff anyway. I do not have more success with an ISO mounted to a virtual machine. Nothing starts, all I get is the Fab's AutoBackup's icon assigned to the CD drive.

Edit : the autoplay feature ran fine onto another Windows 10 virtual machine. I do not know why it does not work with the first one.

Edit 2 : weird stuff : the virtual machine that worked fine earlier does not run autoplay anymore now...
