"If This Then That"

Signed up for this a few months but never really dove in. Not sure if everyone has heard of this site but it basically allows you to create "recipes" to automate stuff. It can be a reminder sent via email, a post to Twitter/Facebook when a certain criteria is met or even an automated thank you to a new Twitter subscriber. It supports quite a few sites like Gmail, Google Calendar, Dropbox and a bunch more you can see for yourself on the site. There are community created "recipes" that you can use as well.

I can see a lot of applications for this for social media type stuff but it's fairly powerful and the sky is the limit with what you can do with it.

Maybe we can brainstorm as a group and come up with some recipes that would benefit us to promote or automate our businesses???

Anyone using this service? Any recipes to share?

IFTTT is awesome! Been using it for quite a while now and have over 40 recipes! :D I mainly use it for SEO purposes, most originating from an Instagram photo. I also use it for my WeMos. They are constantly adding new services too.

Sure. I take an instagram photo of every successfully recovered hard drive. Using IFTTT, the photo is sent (along with a "personalized" message for each destination) to places like FaceBook and Twitter (via Buffer), LinkedIn, various social bookmarking sites, my blogs (two of which are embedded in my main business website), Flickr, ect. I also have a similar recipe-workflow when I upload a video to YouTube using SocialCam.
