AS you can see PC 25 is damaged. Board is from a DV-9000 series HP.
Board was heating up and not powering up. I removed pc25 and heating issue went away. Now I need replace pc25. Anyone know best way to do this?
I imagine all these "red cubes" are not all the same value.Too easy!
Can I find a like board and obtain replacement part from it?
Are schematics available?

Thanks

Damaged part

I may be wrong here, but from the image it looks like a normal bypass capacitor. Probably 100nf in a 1206 package. You should be able to obtain it from Radio Spares or similar supplier. Easy to replace. Cheers.

Probably 10u/25v. Borrow one from a scrap board, if you can.

@wtigger Google will turn up some but if you Write to the manufacturer explaining what you need it for and you repair electronic devices down to component level (plenty of Bull $h**t) , they will either sell or send you a copy or some times put you in touch with the company that designed the M/B.
Most of the Schematics We have are sent to us on paper on double A3 sheets or bigger but some times you fine gems on line.

link to some schematics

Hello the part that is cracked is a capacitor and needs to be replaced make sure the Mosfet PQ4 is not causing the problem and that it is ok as well. I have these if you tell me what board model that is I can get it for you.. Or I can tell you where to get it. The most important thing if you don't have a lot of boards like we do, then you have to look it up on the schematic as to what ratings the part has?

You can then buy the part for .10-.55 from digikey, or mouser.

Someone is desperatly trying to promote their business again. Bringing up very old threads for no reason.
