I once knew of a tweak ( for XP, don't know about Vista/7 ) .. That when you booted your computer, and got into the logon screen; if it was a single user computer it would automatically login to that account and then lock that account so that it would be presented with the login screen again, but the user's desktop etc still loading ? Do you get what I mean ?

Example:

You get up in the morning, switch your lappy/desktop on; do the ol' SSS ( ****, shower, shave ) and then come back to your computer. Able to quickly type in your password and have your desktop presented to you fully loaded and ready ( because your account has been automatically logged into and locked so it can load, and your re-presented with the login screen ) ..

Just off the top of my head, you could try to make an AutoIT script that 'presses' the windows key + L, which would invoke the locked screen. Then just place that into the startup directory of the user account. I don't know if this can be done, it's just my idea
