There. I said it. With Samsung drowning in gleeful haterade, I feel like a Trump supporter at a BLM meeting.

I pre-ordered one for my wife before they came out - she loved it. Samsung nailed it on all fronts, performance, style, an absolute joy to use. Then we had to shut it down and use an S7 Edge "loaner". We might have thought that S7 Edge an excellent device if we hadn't already had a Note 7. Returned the loaner and original Note to receive a "new" Note with the lovely green battery indicator. She was back in business.

Last Saturday I exchanged my own Note 4 for a Note 7. Two days of awesomeness ensued. Best phone I've ever had. Now it seems the Note 7 line has come to an untimely end.

But I don't want to give my phone back. It's like being told I have to stop driving my Ferrari and accept this '85 Yugo instead.

To complicate matters, I'm a heavy stylus user. Despite the disconcerting possibility of it bursting into flame, there doesn't seem to be another device that can hold a candle (unintended pun) to the Note 7.

Any other stylus users out there? What phone are you using?

Ask them if you can get a partial refund and keep the phone

I'd do this even without a refund and sign a liability waiver to keep it.

But I figure at some point Samsung will do what they did (or threatened to do) with the first batch of phones - push out an update that prevents the battery from charging beyond a certain percentage. Or some other crippling update to force people to stop using them.

You are right that's exactly what they will do

There is no replacement for a Note and I hate it!. I dumped iPhone for the Note 3 for many reasons, the biggest being the stylus. I just bought a Note Pro 12.5 Tablet off of eBay so I'll still have my stylus.

The S7 series doesn't have the features that the Note 7 does. Personally, I think the S7 is an inferior product compared to the Note 7.

Yes, hopefully, Samsung doesn't kill off the Note line. The biggest bummer is that everyone is going to be stuck with something else until the next Note comes out and then we will still have to wait until we can upgrade again. That's 2-years minimum for me

i have the Note 4, was going to upgrade next month when my plans up for renewal. Tough decision now as i had Note 7 as my choice- have been a note fan since they first released them.
Hopefully they fix this and release a new one soon.

Thats an awesome car.
This must be a new use of the word awesome that I'm unaware of.

In the UK , they went by the name Yugo Zastava (ie, same shite, different wrapper).

My mother owned one, briefly. Quite simply the worst car I've ever driven ... and I've driven Ladas.

So if your definition of awesome is "bad beyond belief", I think you're spot on! :D

I'm using the S7 edge, more than happy with it, glad it doesn't have the same issues as it's stablemate.

Glad in a way I haven't used the Note, might have spoiled what I already have.
Hopefully, it'll get sorted out and re-released as the Note 8 or something...

I exchanged my replacement Note 7 for a 7 Edge yesterday. I am in deep mourning and angry at AT&T. It was confirmed to me yesterday that either Samsung or the providers will eventually brick the phones, sooner rather than later. They've stolen two months of payments and two months of my replacement cycle from me. The sales person also lost a lot of my data through unsuccessful transfer attempts It took 3 hours in store for them to do this to me! Customer care is getting a call later today when I have the time to spare (and in bit less of a ranting mode). If they don't satisfy me, the phone goes back and I'm changing providers. AT&T has handled this very poorly.

I want my Note 7 back. I had the Note 2 and the Note 4. I'd go back to the 4, but I had dropped it a week before the 7 release. It worked, but was flaky. I had to replace it.

I have seen nothing that comes even close. I went with the 7 Edge simply because I got a free Gear VR from Samsung. If I didn't have that, I would have waited for the LG V20 that's coming out around the 25th.

Yup, there it is. And really, it has to be done.

I ended up with another S7 Edge for my wife and a new Note 5 for myself. Grates on my nerves a little because I deliberately stuck with my Note 4 and skipped the 5 due to it's non removable battery and no SD card. But it's my best option for now and I get to keep my stylus. But when the 8 comes out, I'll once again be pre-ordering and keeping my fingers crossed.

If you still have your Note 7, I would exchange it. Samsung is rolling out a software "update" by years end that will brick all Note 7's.

This update brick proves they can ruin phones at any given time. Apple's been doing it for years lol.
