Is anyone notice wacky issues after going from 7 to 10? Some clients are having their defaults changed back to windows defaults, chrome, changes back to edge, and adobe changed back to edge.

Some machines are getting corrupted hard drives, etc.. Too many weird issues.

It is a pretty well documented fact that after updates win10 resets apps back to the MS defaults - no mystery there.

Would it be a mystery if you set them back to chrome, and adobe, and next thing you know they change back, and back, and back? There is plenty of info about this online. This should not happen.

Yeah I've run into this issue and a couple others, after doing a clean re-install the issue is fixed.

Also to add to what @Porthos said. I got a refurbished laptop for myself and installed Windows 10 took about 20 mins and another 10 mins to apply the remaining updates. Up and ready to go in 30 mins. Loved it.

This is, in my experience, always a result of not having the correct device drivers (especially for chipset and SATA) - and no, you DO NOT rely on Windows 10 to install the correct drivers. Often, I find Windows 10 using basic MS drivers from 2006-2008.

Make sure to run Snappy Driver installer or similar on the machine as a first step after installation.

he first couple of folks I heard from had problems. However, as indicated already, it was most likely because of older hardware and out of date drivers. In a couple of cases, an old printer had no drivers. Overall, though, most problems reported to me were of the "Huh? Why am I on Windows 10?" variety. They just wanted to go back to W7.

That doesn't work for a lot of folks I deal with. They haven't a clue where their files are stored. Sometimes an upgrade is the only practical option.

Well that's simple 'nuff for most folks...................
Just ask them, they will reply "it's stored on my computer"
At least that's the response I get............LOL
Me: Where did you have it stored?
Them: In Word?
Me: No, where did you save the file to?
Them:??????? In Microsoft?
Me: Bang head against wall.

hey Guys I'm Kelvin From Guyana. I've been seeing lots of Issues after upgrading to windows 10 myself...
some of the worst ones are, screen backlight failure, Motherboard failure, Sound Driver failure, HDD Failure and the list goes on,
some simple solutions that works for me are;
1. Clean Install if Windows 10,
2. update to latest Bios Version, Solves Mother board Failures & Backlight Failure
3. Install Windows 7 and upgrade to 10, Solves most Sound issues & Battery issues.
4. Force Install of latest drivers.
Sometimes some drivers are blocked from being installed for some reason, So I force install them, and they Work Fine.
