Anybody come across this with facebook and chrome?. If so how did you cure it.

Its a bug in google chrome, when using chat in facebook you receive a reply you hear a "pop" sound effect, because of the bug you see the url "http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/sound/pop.mp3" instead of the noise.
I'm sure Google will come up with a fix soon.
You could always turn of sound effects for facebook chat until a fix is found.

yes thanks steve51 sorry for the poor post what was happening was it was downloading that file every few minutes (pop up save box). New about the bug with firefox never heard of it in google chrome. not sure if the problem is facebook's or chromes?. but I guess chromes.waiting for a reply from either of them.

That pop sounds comes out weird on my laptop. Its more of a distorted-half-pop lol. Compared to my partner sittin' next to me, hers' seems like a perfect 'pop'.

There are alternative Desktop Clients for FaceBook out there if they don't want to access it though a web-browser.
