Nothing wrong with KODI, I use it with Convenent add on.
I don't like it. That's really all that
has to be wrong with it.
The problem is I've been doing things a particular way for many years. Because of that my media is all set up in a way to make
that way as convenient as possible. While downloading metadata and pretty pictures is really, really cool, I don't want it. I've had to put up with it in Plex too, unfortunately, but at least I can trudge through the interface to sort by files and folders, though I have to do it repeatedly and I swear the option moves around.
An update on Plex, everything plays fine through Plex on my Roku. It's only when I play a movie using the Plex client on the machine with the server that I get playback issues. It's not
too big a deal, but it does kind of defeat the purpose of an "all in one" system if I can't just leave my screen set to that input.
Also, sometimes when I install the client I don't have the option to use it without signing in. I haven't made an account and I won't make an account. I don't need to watch
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra from China, just in my living room. It
really pushes that online account, but I just have zero interest. I'm getting old and I don't see why you kids need all this new fangled connectivity. In my day if we wanted to have a phone with us everywhere we had to get a mobile HOME! Of course it wouldn't work until you parked somewhere and connected the wires...
