Hi

Just thought I would share with you the fact that I now have a HTC HD 2

http://www.htc.com/europe/product/hd2/overview.html

All i can say is WOW it is probably one of the best phones I have ever owned, and it literally does EVERYTHING!

It runs my business with the outlook sync, diary, reminders, internet, GPS (for tomtom sat nav) plus camera, light etc etc

i recommend every tech has one!:D

I own the Touch Pro 2, HTC makes quality phones.

The internet sharing(hotspot) program comes in handy when troubleshooting. Something I have been able to do for months but now is becoming popular because of the more mainstream mobile.

Windows Mobile never gets any love from mainsteam. lol

I've had an HD2 since they were relased in October last year, very good phone with an excellent screen and HTC have done a fantastic job with their Window Mobile shell 'HTC Sense'. It's not without its problems though, the Bluetooth stack doesn't seem to be compatible with many other Bluetooth devices, the location services work randomly and the calendar app is not as comprehensive as it could be for a business phone - you cannot assign your own categories to appointments, there's a bug in setting repeated events and ActiveSynce needs coaxing to work with Windows 7.

That said it's a brilliant screen, reasonable battery life and above all it looks and feels superb.

If you haven't already done so, upgrade your ROM to 1.66, early ROMs had more bugs than a tramp's vest. If yours is branded the chances are they've removed the brilliant wi-fi router app which turn the phone into a mobile wireless router - flash with a generic ROM and you'll get full benefit of the phones features.

The HD2 is not as slick as the ubiquitous iPhone, but as a business tools it's far more powerful as long as you're prepared to tweak a little and make use of its multi-tasking ability.

Yeah mine is only 2 weeks old, and does ahve the 1.66 ROM and its from HTC (warranty replacement) so not branded. Overall Excellent, esp for diangosing wifi, etc

Got the HTC Droid Eris and couldn't be more happier.

I would also reccomend that anybody with a qualifying smartphone get PdaNet. It's a small (free) application that allows you to tether your phone as a modem. Most carriers in the U.S. charge you to utilize their service (Verizon would charge me $30 on top of the $30 I am already spending on unlimited data), but PdaNet is free and only a $29.99 one-time fee to access secure servers.

It looks like a great phone. But to think that his phone cannot be upgraded to windows mobile 7 is crazy. Dont think that this unit will sell much here in the States because of that fact. Everyone here will just wait for HTC to make a phone with windows mobile 7.

I just got the Motorola Droid and I love it!!! This phone will do anything! I like running android because it is so customizable and user friendly! I would highly recommend this phone to anyone! I use PdaNet to tether to my computer but I can also root the phone to add hotspot functionality.
