HP wireless printer not visible in XP

Hi, I'm stumped here, went onsite to set up a new hp officejet 8500A plus wireless printer. I connected it easily to their verizon mobile hotspot and her laptop saw it and connected to it no prob. Then I jumped on their older XP machine and downloaded the drivers and installed them but strangely it could not see the printer, (I am already connected to the net through the same hotspot). I checked the ip address on the printer and put it in, no go, disabled firewall too, ideas?

Try installing the printer as local with a standard tcpip port, point the port to the printers ip address. This has worked for me in the past.

Keep in mind that a static address is needed on the printer, so set it out of the dhcp reservation of the rougher.

ok, I did this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ep1dVnlkgw&feature=player_detailpage I left it set as generic network device in the end, should i have selected one of the hp choices from the pull-down? it still isn't working, dang Oh never mind! I just ran the hp install wizard again and it saw it now and installed it, thank so much for your help!
