I have an HP m9417c Dekstop PN# FK536AA#ABA that is on the bench. They brought it in complaining that it wouldn't power on. Put a working PS in it, still nothing. The PS has a test button on it, pressed it and fans spun up, but no beeps or video. Ok, ordered a new MOBO and it came it today. At first power on LED flashes for 8 times and you can here like a clicking coming from the speaker 7 times. When it is doing the flashing lights I had an add-on video card plugged in. Took that out and flashing stopped. Still no post and no video when plugged into onboard video. Tried different add-on video cards and it'd do the same thing with the lights and speaker clicking. Right now I have the CMOS battery out resetting the BIOS to see if that is the issue. Have you ran across this before? Ideas? Bad processor?
