[REQUEST] HP 500 Plotter \ Jet Direct on Windows 10?

I have a client, all new machine, network working well etc. BUT they have a HP 500 plotter, connected to their network via a JetDirect print server that they really don't want to replace with anything newer because they only use it maybe 20 times\year.

Anyone still have a client using one of these in this configuration? Any tips on getting it running? At the moment, I can send a print job to it and it will spool to the JetDirect but I get no print output.

I'd be grateful for any tips.

Not recently. There are a couple of older Windows 8 machines still in storage that apparently printed to it no problem until the were removed a couple of months ago. Planning on trying that next week, just to verify, but need to be onsite for that.

For sure try with another computer, also try direct connection if possible. Could be the jetdirect, I've seen odd issues with them before.

What type of JD? External or internal? How is it mapped? WINS name or IP? Are you sure the 500 is good? Do some diags to make sure. Link to service manual below. I've worked on plenty of DJ's back when people actually used to print stuff. How did you test print? Doing a Windoze test print or some app?
