Hi, I'm moving a client from GoDaddy POP to a hosted exchange.

They have been using webmail, which means there's no Outlook PST to migrate stuff around; we will have to create Outlook profiles for each user, download then move their mail.

Problem is that POP only allows you to download the Inbox.

How do we download the *sent* mail folder from GoDaddy?

I tried a program called MailStore, but it too says it will only download the inbox of a POP account.

Help!

Mail Store will easily do it, you just need to outsmart the program.

Create a "temporary" folder in the email web based client and shuffle everything from the inbox to the temporary folder.

Now your inbox is clean.

Shuffle everything from the sent folder to the inbox, and fire up mail store.

It will now download all of those "sent" items that are stored in the inbox.

Yes we've considered doing that same thing but via Outlook.

Only thing is with at least two of the mailboxes, there are thousands of emails....will take forever to move via the web interface.

Download their Inbox.
Empty it in Webmail.
Move the contents of local Inbox into a Temp sub-folder.
In webmail, move everything in Sent into Inbox.
Download Inbox.
Move contents of local Inbox into local Sent.
Put original Inbox contents from Temp folder to local Inbox.

Ugh, ok that's what we've been doing....will keep at it.

Fortunately the mailboxes are not too big and there aren't too many sub-folders...

Wer're done. We ended up doing it the hard way as described here. Wasn't too much work because fortunately they didn't have too much crap in their boxes, save for a couple individuals.

Next time I'll call ahead to Godaddy & have them enable IMAP for the account though....
