how much would you have sold this computer for?

whats up guys, im just wondering what you techs would have sold this machine for if you built it for someone. It has:

-Windows XP Pro
-Asus M3A-H/HDMI AM2+ Mobo
-AMD Triple Core Black Edition 2.4 Ghz
-G. Skill DDR2 1066 (4 GB)
-Logitec Wireless Mouse/Keyboard

I was thinking $300-$400 but it is really what the market will bear. If you are selling to people willing to pay $800 (or any number) more power to you.

install vista 64 instead of XP pro if your going to use 4gb or ram. If not drop it to 2gb and save 2gb for another computer or run 3gb in single channel. As for pricing that's a tough one, honestly selling anything but high-end custom computers where your charging for your expertise in tweaking the computer isn't worth it since the OEMs can put together a budget-mid-ranged computer with a warranty for as much as is costs for you to buy the parts usually.

ya i figured that but even for liek $300 i can get a decent mobo, ram and amd proc. and sell it for $500 and still have it better than a oem mid range tho correct?

No. I was $300-$400 total. I only buy computers at a huge discount. But then none of us are your target market (I hope!).

I agree. I had a guy argue with me on youtube that I should be able to build a $600 gaming PC. While something close to a gaming rig can be built for that, I can't do it and make a profit.

Good job going with XP, even though it will only see 3.5 GB of the RAM it will be much faster and more stable.
