How are people selling bitdefender on ebay for $7 ea.?

I have found people selling bitdefender for 6, 7, or $8.00 each on ebay. Where are they getting these licenses so cheap? No I expect the response to be they are pirated licences, but some of these guys have been around awhile. I would have expected them to be ferreted out if they were illegal copies.

Are these the guys who just sell "keys" ? If so then I think they are from keygens or some kind of pirating. I don't think anyone is selling boxed versions at that price.

Anyone selling software on ebay with less than a 1000 positive rating can easily be a scammer. Heck, they might be able to go to 5,000 before their account is shutdown and they have to start a new one which they keep running for another few thousand sales until they get shut down again.

At some point the software company gives up trying to shut these guys down.

YES, they are just selling keys... However, one seller I bought some from in the past couldn't provide me any for this order, He said "He was sold out!"

Now I don't think key generators run out of numbers.. This is why I am confused..he has a 99.4 percent rating been on ebay since 01, and has items listed currently..

So he isn't shut down, and has a reputable rating..

As a Bitdefender reseller I can purchase license very cheap. If I sold enough to become a "power seller" then reselling licenses for $7 on eBay could be profitable.

Nah, it's not piracy. There was a sale about 5 months ago on BDIS 2013 where you could stack coupons and get 3-machine licenses for $.13 cents apiece, direct from the BD website.

I bought 100, wish I'd bought 500, I'd sell them on ebay too.

I've been selling them for between $10-25 each, offering it as a deep discount after folks get a repair, retail is $49-$59.

There is basically nothing you can't find cheaper than a reseller account will give it to you. MBAM Pro Lifetime is often available for ~$4-10, Kaspersky generally free or ~$8 if buying bulk, and that's from sources like Newegg or TigerDirect.
