I have a customer who is trying to install Maximizer but the SQL server will not respond and I keep getting an error message "Login Failed. Please make sure you entered the correct SQL server name and also use the right credential to connect to the SQL server". If anyone has any ideas I am at a loss. Thanks.

^ This.

Since this is on 8.1, I"m gonna ask...is SQL server installed? If so, is it express? Assuming so...does their data fall within the limit of database size and will 1GB of RAM suffice for their application?

Yes and Yes
It is installed and was working then the database got corrupted and I removed all the files and reinstalld Maximizer now nothing connects.

Resolved Thank you all,
had to totally remove SQL and Maximizer and to a complete reinstall. seems to be working now.

Wow...haven't heard or seen the term "Maximizer" in a long time. Back in my first "computer" job...when Win3 was still common and Win95 was just out, we used the DOS version of Maximizer for our CRM.

I wish I had never heard of Maximizer either. It has been a pain in my side since I started looking after this client. I have gotten one of her clients to move to the cloud version and since then no problems at all but this 1 client wont move and its a real pain. IMHO
