I have a customer who is obviously chinese and would like his windows 7 computer to be in chinese.

I have no experience in this and I went to the language settings and put it in chinese but nothing has changed.

I googled and found something about language packs in windows update, but i dont see them, even under hidden updates.

Can someone tell me how to do this??

Legally, you can not use the MS language packs on anything other than the Ultimate edition and the Enterprise Edition. The other alternative is that the Parent Language of the install DVD is Chinese... as in a copy purchased in China. Maybe Ebay?

That being said, it is fairly easy to find a solution by Googling. Personally I wouldn't offer a round-about-solution because of the MS TOS.

well the customer has windows 7 home premium and had it in chinese i believe, before he brought it to me. Orig problem was that it would not boot so I did a factory image restore and he brings it back and says he wants it in English.

Leave it to M$ do make simple things so difficult.

thanks mark, but after reading the site, they have to be inserted before SP1 is installed, and that is how it came from factory, as its an almost new computer.
