Help to finish System repair tools

Ok, nice.

Oh I forgot to mention (even in the website) that it works for both x64 and x86 archs.
The x64 executable is compressed in the main executable, and when it detects a 64 or IA64 OS, it decompresses it to temp dir and runs it from there.
So if you have a 64 bits pc don't be surprised if you see 2 ExeFixer processes.

The main executable keeps running idled until the other one closes to be able to delete the temporary file.

Thanks for sharing your software with us Eureka.
I've bookmarked your website and will check it out asap.

I hope by now you have all the Win2000 reg keys you need? I can't help you out, I haven't come across Win2000 for a long time ;)

Good luck with the build.

Cheers.

New UVK version also available

It's done. New version is available.
Thanks for sharing your software with us Eureka.
It sounds like you put in a lot of work.
You're welcome. And don't worry, I feel mutch better knowing that the tools are being used by someone els than just me.
Here are some of the changes and improvements:

  • Considerable memory usage reduction (from about 15 to 5MB). This can be important when working on an old infected pc.
  • Added several context menu items to easily get file info on Process explorer, Startup entries, Services, Scheduled tasks and drivers.
  • Added Image hijacks, Scheduled tasks and drivers to a new lish view on Startup items screen.
  • Also added these areas to UVK scan.
  • Increased window width by 150 px.
  • Integrated all ExeFixer fixes plus Enable and repair Windows update, Fix install problems and Clear dns and hosts cache.
  • And many other things like stability improvement, smaller size, etc.

Tip: Register system dll's fix on system repair screen can solve more than 50% of windows common problems.
As you know, most of windows fixes are based on registering some system dlls.
Well this fix registers all microsoft signed dlls on system32 folder in less than 3 minutes.

Leave you with some screenshots. I hope you like the tool.

Ah and don't forget to post if you find a bug. Or go here.

Eureka, I just downloaded the portable version and ran it. When it opens, the first screen has a "<Back" button that does nothing (nor should it since there was no screen before it).

The next screen, again, on the Portable version, says "You are about to install...". Might be worth rewording that.

Thanks for your tips.

I new this button would create confusion. In fact, the licence iewer is a sizable and maximizable activeX control that allows users to click the links on the license page and show corresponding webpages. The back button is intended to allow users to go back to previous page so they can be able to return to the license page, if desired. Do you think it will still confuse people if I change it to Reset and make it just go to the license page?
The next screen, again, on the Portable version, says "You are about to install...". Might be worth rewording that.
I used the same html page for both setup and portable versions and I didn't notice the bug. I 'll remove the "You're about to install UVK". Thanks.

Hi, as mentioned earlier I checked out UVK a couple of times and.... I like it! A lot! Clean, easy to handle, lot of options....

Thanks again for the share on TN. Keep up the good work :)
