Hi guys! Just wanted to give you an update on the broken PS3.
As it turns out, I did get lucky and was able to find a part that worked with my particular model PS3. As jbartlett323 suggested, I searched using the Playstation model number instead of the Blu-Ray drive model number.
SO... for the record. If you need to fix a Blu-Ray drive on a CECHL01 playstation, the KES-410A will work, regardless of what the basement-dwelling "PS3 experts" tell you, LOL!

It took a little fidgeting... the first time I tested it I apparently didn't have the drive back together correctly and it wouldn't suck the disc in all the way. Got that sorted out and now it works like a champ!
