So I did a data-recovery job for a client who spilt liquid on a MacBook Pro 13" Retina 2013 model. After the job was done I offered to take the computer as a payment, to which the client agreed (it wouldn't boot).
So I took it back to the shop and went to town cleaning this thing. I took out literally everything and cleaned it with electronics cleaner.
The miracle happened and it booted up! Two problems though.
1. It's slower than expected
2. Won't run on battery, battery won't charge
Okay so after researching I've found that problem nr.1 can be cause by problem nr 2. so let me spell out the details.
* Magsafe contact stays orange indicating that it's charging
* Battery is at 83% now. Yesterday it was at 84% so it's discharging slowly.
* Battery icon in top right corner says "Replace battery now"
And here's a screen dump from the program CoconutBattery for some extra info on the battery.
Would be truly thankful for any tips from any Apple-pros around here. Im mostly a Windows guy but I do use a Mac. My hope is that the battery just went bad and I can simply replace it?
