I have never liked jeans until I got a pair of stretchy, loose ones from Lee's. Of course, I want more, but they are no longer available. Please help me find something comparable.

Lee Men's Performance Series Extreme Motion Loose Fit Carpenter Jean
- Color: Beau
- Size: 42W x 32L
- Material: 98% cotton (<3 cotton), 2% spandex

Edit: no need for carpenter type with loops for tools.

Edit 2: the best part - "Featuring an extreme flex waistband and extreme-stretch denim."

What has always made me hate jeans is that they tend to be way too tight around the crotch.

There are scads of loose/comfort fit jeans available. And I'd suggest going to your local Walmart, Target, Kohls, and any one of a number of clothing or department stores to try on what's available now, as you just can't count on anyone to keep the same cut and fit over time.

If you must have the carpenter loops, that becomes a bit more difficult.

By the way, if you're someone for whom brand name is not a critical feature, I've really liked Costco's Kirkland jeans, and they definitely have loose fit stretch fabric jeans (which I didn't get, as I just don't like the "bit of spandex.") But they also have loose fit straight denim, too. And, of course, some Levis brand as well.

Personally I wear tactical pants. Specifically 5.11 TacLite Pro. Best pants I've ever worn. Before that I was wearing jeans. I've been wearing the pairs I have for over 6 years now.

Things I like over jeans and other pants:
- Relaxed fit, gusseted crotch, plenty of room.
- Ripstop fabric, helps with durability.
- More pockets
- These specifically have extra deep back pockets have an angled top. Puts my wallet down to my thigh so I barely notice it while sitting down. Plus plenty of room to stick stuff in there like water bottles, screw drivers, tools, etc.
- Teflon coating helps repeal water, resist stains. I feel like they were marked as quick drying too but I don't see that in the description but I feel like they dry pretty quick comparted to other pants.

I tried a couple pairs of LA Police Gear pants recently. Actually one is too tight but I forgot to return it. The other isn't bad a little snug so maybe I should have gone a size up. It has a stretch waistband and the fabric is a bit stretchy. I'm so use to my other pants layout that it does bug me slightly when I wear them. Like it doesn't have the little slit front pocket that I clip my phone to. So I usually end up having to put my phone in one of the side cargo pockets, along with my wallet since it rides too high in the back for my comfort. They are a slimmer fit for sure. Not the best for my rugged manly figure.

For sure I'll never go back to jeans.

I've worn jeans every day for the past 20+ years for work. Stopped doing the "corporate slacks" after I left the Computer Land franchise I worked for way back then (the boss there wanted us doing the IBM corporate look, nice slacks, white shirt, tie).

I prefer to get "Made in USA" brands based on principle, and helping our economy since I'm in business myself. Based on your reply of "nearly a benjamin" above...guessing you don't want to pay for "Made in USA"....but there is a brand that is well under a hundge, Dearborn Denim.

Growing up I wore Lee and Levis....and have a couple of those left (not left from growing up, but probably bought in the past 15 years)....they're mostly made in India now.

Carhartt makes some looser fitting styles, including carpenter jeans (that's all I wore while riding the Harleys)....one model is made in the USA, the rest,..overseas.

I've been wearing Dockers cargo pants for several years for work. They have a version that's all cotton and just one cargo pocket. Nice loose fit and very durable.

With all you guys taking about jeans (expensive ones at that) I guess we need to change from Speedos to Blue Jeans. 😭

In my covid days as above as the eloquent @River Valley Computer self pictured hitting the boss button.

I hate clothes shopping as I don't need to do it frequently so anytime I do go nothing I had been wearing is available anymore so it is finding what from all the "new" stuff that doesn't really look that different fits me comfortably and I can feel confident will last a reasonable length of time.

It appears that I might want to switch from relaxed pants to regular/standard as relaxed are meant to go above the waist (not a fan) and they are much looser (maybe too loose for me). Gotta try them.

Went to Duluth Trading Company and found these nice pants that are similar:

Lee's also has a similar pants to the ones I love:
