"GREEN" Screen of Death

I saw my first BSOD with a QR yesterday at home on Windows 10 x64 when I was reassembling my desktop (pulled one of two HDDs from the RAID 1 Mirror to take with me when I went on vacation as a backup).

When I connected everything, it showed up as degraded and wouldn't rebuild. I checked the connections which were good and was erroring on perhaps killing the hard disk I removed by putting it in a laptop bag and throwing it in the overhead compartment on an airplane about four times.

What I didn't know is that when I pulled the SATA cable connecting that drive, the other drive did not have power; hence, it was like pulling both disks at the same time. I then tried them one at a time with the one I traveled with booting the PC and the other not... turned out it was a loose power connector. Ended up having to blast the array config on the one I traveled with, boot the other one then and connect that one as an empty drive and rebuild.

That said, I have NOT seen a Green Screen yet.

I wonder if this has anything to do with green being a calming color. Maybe trying to avoid more of this

Interesting you mention that. Some companies actually do pay attention to stuff like that. Back when I was working on offshore drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico there was one company that painted their semi's completely green. Had a full time paint crew and that was all they did. The tool pusher told me they had hired some industrial designer and that was one of the recommendations. If other companies did not cover their stuff it would be painted green as well. LOL!!!

That's actually one of the reasons we made green our company color. People tend to get upset when stuff doesn't work right, anything that might calm then down is worth a shot. Everything is green, our shirts, our logo, cards, hell even our office!
