Has anyone used a GPS tracker in a laptop? I'm thinking something like would go on a keyfob but placing it in the laptop case. If you use tracking software and your laptop is lost or stolen (or even just has a drained battery), all they would have to do would be wipe or replace the drive and it's gone. If you have a physical tracker with a long-life battery, you may have a chance at locating it. I'm thinking this could be used for personal equipment or for business equipment where employees are on the road. Thoughts? Experience in testing?

I'm not sure "in" a laptop is possible. No room in most and that small would have no range. Someone may prove me wrong though......

I've seen a few really small ones that could be fit into some laptops. Range is part of my question actually. Most I've seen are Bluetooth so will not do for what I'm thinking about.

Why not use Intel or ESET's anti-theft protocols? Both allow for the systems to be remotely wiped, disabled, geo-location (Based on internet connection) Most businesses should be setup with a VPN of some sort with remote kill. Sure if it is lost/stolen, they have the device, but it'll be pretty useless as far as the information goes.
