Got a question for the community here at Technibble?

Made interesting reading, they seem to both refer to the previous study? The graphs looked identical.

You say you sell Lenovo but it ranked 6th?

I have always discounted Toshiba from thought but when I think about it, it is rare to see a Toshiba fail, also worrying to see 25% of netbooks fail in 3 years.

Second link refers to Square Trade study, which produced the graph that started this thread. First link is for another study.

When I sell a branded laptop, I try to find that middle ground between pricer and quality, depending on the customer's needs. Lenovo fits right in there.

As for Netbooks, they've been popular for around three years, and I'm starting to get them in by the bleepload. Have four in the shop now, all terminally dead.

A good thing about lenovo is that they are well made physically. So they might not top the reliability charts but they do withstand knocks and drops very well.

Wow, I'm not sure how acer beat out some of the others. Maybe in sells, but Acer does not come close to Dell, apple or lenovo in terms of quality. I would rate them this way:

1. Apple
2. lenovo
3. Asus
4. Dell
5. All the rest

From the SquareTrade study

Appendix: Notes about the Data and Methodology Used

SquareTrade randomly selected over 30,000 laptop and netbook computers for this analysis. We included
only items that were purchased brand new (i.e. not refurbished or used).

The following disclaimers apply to our data and analysis:

- As there is no sharp line that divides the definition of a netbook and laptop computer,
SquareTrade has used the price point of under $400 to define the netbook category in this
analysis.

- Only malfunctions reported directly to SquareTrade are included in the data. Other malfunctions,
including software issues handled directly by the retailer, problems associated with product
recalls, and those fixed by software/firmware updates, may not be represented in this data.

- We did not take into consideration purchase location.

It will be interesting to see if there are any shifts in the 2010 data when it comes out.

I never would have guessed Toshiba would have ranked so well. I see a lot of Toshibas.

What do you guys think of Acer Laptops are the good or bad I went and got one and it's been great but I am just wondering on how many times did someone turn them into a shop for repair or what not thanks for the help.

My Acer's laptop is very good, no warranty issues.
