Google Places pages have been entirely replaced by new Google+ Local pages.

As of this morning roughly 80 million Google Place pages worldwide have been automatically converted into 80 million Google+ Local pages, according to Google’s Marissa Mayer.

It’s a dramatic change (for the better) though it will undoubtedly disorient some users and business owners.

Regards,

I can't even get on the listings period. I give up on Google places and + for that matter.

Hey Lisa, Google places (now plus) is a great tool for gaining new clients. If you are having trouble with getting your listing up, PM me if you would like some help.

Getting the listing up should not be an issue, but I am a little confused as to how Google+ is replacing Google Places Page. I just set up my Google Plus Profile for my business, but my Google Place Page is still what people are directed to when they find my listing. Any suggestions tf76?

Probably the most frustrating this for me is that in the last few days, none of my customers new reviews have been posting on Google Places. You can see them when logged into their accounts, but they do not publicly display. Do you think they will eventually show up?

PCX, I had a look at some other peoples google places pages and they have now been updated to the new google plus pages. This is after doing google searches and clicking on respective links.

Regards,

Yeah, I don't like their rating scheme. My business doesn't have any reviews on Google yet, but some other local businesses seem to have really low ratings. A couple of my favorite restaurants have around a 15 score just because of a few lousy reviews.

Also, It would be nice if they let us edit the page directly if it's going to be live. The edits to the places page don't seem to correspond to this new page, at least not exactly.

i have had my google places for a while, but for some reason it deletes reviews every now and then so i told people to use yelp and yahoo for now

Google destroyed business listings. Our listing is not down and it has been replaced by Google+, but so has the rating system. Ever since they have removed the stars, we have went from 30 - 50 hits (actions or clicks on listing) per day to about 0 - 5, while our impressions (the number of times that our listing is seen in search results) stays the same.

I've had several customers review me after Google changed the review system, and none of them are showing up. Has anyone else had this issue?

That means google has blocked them with its spam filters, I've lost several of my reviews too. Make sure the reviews come from diff ip's, not spammy, legit accts, etc. their review system has been changed to improve filtering fake ones but it removes legit ones too! Make sure your customers are choosing to make their reviews public also.

++ I hate losing the stars! The numerical rating system is dumb, the stars stood out.
