Getting Crashplan to backup mounted shares in Ubuntu

I believe that Crashplan allows for the backing up of network shares when you're using Ubuntu.

Using the Ubuntu gui, I connected to the share using file explorer, and then mounted the share. The share now appears on the desktop, Crashplan however does not see the mounted share, only the local folders and files. What am I doing wrong ?

I never had any luck getting Crashplan to see anything but local drives. Did Crashplan support say they could?

SOS supports network drives.

I think it's a matter of symlinks vs hard links.
