General Windows 10 Password Reset Bootdisks (local accts)

Hey all - tried to boot into a customer laptop with Parted Magic to do the CMD over Utilman Trick... unfortunately the drive only seems to mount as read only, and is preventing me from doing the trick.

Are there any recommended programs/apps that I can use to reset the password? Something easy that I can use in the future while I am on-site with a customer?

Any ideas appreciated!

PCUnlocker seems to work the best. It does both local and MS accounts. The Enterprise version is the best choice because
it will do UEFI.

doesn't that happen when windows is hibernated? I can't remember, can you boot to the login screen and perform a windows shutdown? that should remove the read-only lock.

I use NTPassword Reset. Takes 10 seconds to remove a local account.

Nordahl's ntpasswd works and the price is right. Of course it's also nice to have a bunch of things rolled into 1. I've got Gandalf's PE which has a similar utility amongst many others. Those are local accounts only.

The problem being with the way Microsoft/Windows 10 sets up new accounts is that local accounts are becoming rare. Most of what I am seeing in newer computers are online accounts.

Even with the Enterprise you sometimes have to tweak the bios.

My use case is almost always to just unlock the local admin account to I can log in and work from there.
