Just wanted to check with my buds here...
I have a client that is getting royally shafted by a "professional" web developer. They have an event list/calendar on their site and want to have links that go to the respective event pages on Facebook. Long story short, the web dev is asking for $3600 to upgrade his Wix plan from 20GB to 50GB because "adding links is going to take up space they don't have"
. The Dev says that they are using 19.9GB.
Is there a way I can actually tell how much data is being used, with Wix?
The site is hosted at Wix.com.
There is no apparent way to make a backup of the site (as to see a Zip file archive size).
You can't transfer the website to another host or copy it to another host - you would have to rebuild the whole thing under say, Wordpress.
The site does not list the data usage - says they will send an email to inform you when it's getting low.
Seems like a crap-way of doing business to me. Rely on the Wix people to tell me my space is all up, but no way to verify? No way to clean-up and free space? Who the hell would opt for this crap?
Am I missing something here?
At the very least, if I can't find out the size being used, neither can the Web dev.
I did a HTTrack website copy and it's 5.9MB between the pages and images... obviously no databases or the like.
