So loved the Quake series, when gaming was good on my 3dfx with 3d adapter.
Most games now are very generic, original Call of Duty was great - used play with a clan back in the day.
Half Life series loved it - used to mod heaps with that engine.
Also loved the Sierra Adventure titles Police Quest,Space Quest.

@Gegen Stück IMHO, there has never been a greater game developer than Sierra... Space Quest, King's Quest, Quest for Glory... man... so many memories.

I used to be big into PC games in around 2004 was always beta testing different games so my friends loved it because I always had enough product keys to go around for Early Access to games.
Used to love modding them as well.

Thanks for the reminder on this thread @frase . I tend to game in the winter months especially lately since I've been laid up after rotator-cuff surgery. I recently tried the new Mechwarrior 5. It's pretty poor. Needs another year just to be playable and even then it's the same thing over and over again. Lather, rinse and repeat. Confusing mechanics. Many other issues including low frame rates. It was released long before it was ready and are using the players as beta testers.
I tried Battlefield Hardline. A boys in the hood kind of thing. Not my style.
Played through Far Cry New Dawn recently. I thought it was just an expansion pack for Far Cry 5 but it holds up all by itself. Takes place at the same place as Far Cry 5 but 17 years later. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Horatio was an excellent buddy to have my back. Never thought I'd say that about a pig - chuckles......
I've also been playing Doom (2016). Now that's an epic FPS in first person. (I really dislike third-person shooters.) The scale, artwork, graphics, mechanics and game play are excellent. One of the best I've played in awhile.
Any other suggestions on FPSs of late?
