Could quite possible be one of the best games of all time. Anyone who loves zombies or immersive gaming really should check it out. Been given the green light for a full standalone release too :D

Seems very immersive..a bit too slow for my taste. I prefer fast action first person shooters (example..Battlefield, Quake, Unreal genre stuff). But I will admit..the engine for Day Z...WOW...fantastic HUGE outdoor environments. The terrain, grass, fields, shrubs, trees, etc. I understand it's based on Arma2...which was a military first person shooter type..I should check out that game.

The joy of Day-Z is its completely what you make it, you can make it full on shooting and running about if you like, or you can hide out in the woods hunting, avoiding players and zombies occasionally sneaking into a town for supplies. As theres no rules, goals or objectives its really interesting to see what has developed and is developing. The engine is great, but very buggy, on the plus side they are constantly releasing new patches for it, like every couple of days and they listen to the players issues and address them quickly.

The Arma 3 engine looks incredible though and as Day-z is going to have a standalone release using the engine i for one will be preordering and slowly upgrading my gaming rig to enjoy it in all its glory when it comes out. :)

Everyone who likes games really should check it out, you can play it for £14.99 if you use the arma free demo thing and the operation arrowhead off steam and it also runs on older machines :)

Damn this final level of Portal 2.
A curse too on being raised in an age where a controller is not a natural extension of one's hand.

Jumped in the GW2 early access yesterday....it's going to be a long sleepless week I'm afraid. Great stuff so far, some really nice evolution from traditional mmo formulas.

Been playing "Sleeping Dogs" on PC. Cool game, awesome game mechanics - sorta like GTA with Arkham Asylum style fighting. Set in Hong Kong - plays like a Jet Li movie :P

Alrighty! Purchased Arma 2 stuff and downloaded DayZ mod via dayzcommander last night. Now just trying to iron out the kinks..giving me version errors this morning in my first attempts to jump online.

The firewall distro called "Untangle"...that many of us here love and use at our clients, some of their tech guys started up their own DayZ Server...it's in California (where they are)....can find it via the filter for public servers by searching for Untangle. I just gotta get the version settled on my rig so I can join.

Just remembered this thread, how did you get on on Day-Z Stoney?

I can't get into the game. Played about 4 times...mostly on servers in my region...north east US. Have died once. Accumulated a few things..but game is just too slow for me.

Will be getting back into Battlefield 3 with that new Armor mod and newly released map pack of huge maps.

I'd been meaning to get Arma 2 for dayz for ages and finally managed to on monday. Haven't had the time to commit into it that i'd like but it does have potential. Definitely have to be in the right mood though for the pacing of the game but there's nothing like the feeling of power when you find your first proper weapon (just got a scoped rifle, I was like gollum and got really paranoid people were going to take it off me).

I had real issues with mouse lag that turned out to be the "mouse smoothing" option, I had turned down all the settings before then thinking it was that. Hopefully will do a session on this Saturday, thanks for the recommendation :)

He's great isn't he? :) I guess its one of those games, if its not the right its not right. But I'd keep an eye on it because apparently theres the potential for 1000s of zombies per server and objectives, story and lots of other cool stuff apparently coming in the standalone, possibly out this year

I've been enjoying the beta of Smite. www.smitegame.com

If you like MOBA, it's a different perspective on League of Legends. I have beta keys if anyone wants to try it out, shoot me a PM.

I've been playing CS 1.6 off and on for the last 7 or more years. After my CS1.6 home server shut down I started paying for a small server but it's difficult to get players to it sometimes,s o it's mostly for me to play with friends when we are all online. It's at 68.232.168.63:27015 is there's any CS 1.6 players out there looking for a casual server.

Since CS:GO came out I've been playing it considerably more. I'm actually halfway decent at GO and it seems like the longer I play GO the worse I am at 1.6. Last night I played 1.6 for the first time in a couple weeks of playing GO and ended up going like 1-12 on a map :(

I've considered getting into BF3, but don't have a computer powerful enough to run it, and don't have an Xbox/PS3.
