This came out last week, but I just saw it and hadn't seen anybody reference it here in TN.

Here's the crux of the article:

"Have you been a victim of scareware? If so, there’s a high probability that a refund is waiting for you, just around the corner.

The US Federal Trade Commission announced that it plans to issue refunds to 320,000 known scareware victims, following a settlement with Innovative Marketing — a producer and distributor of fake security software known as Winfixer, Drive Cleaner, and XP Antivirus. — for $8,272,962.

With $100 million in revenues, Innovative Marketing’s case clearly indicates just how profitable the scareware business is."

Not bad, make $100 million, give only $8 million back. I'd like a business plan like that!

man we all got into the wrong business.... i make good money but nothing like that profit margin! wow... the us government makes it easy to do it again......

its like the dea only taking 10 millon out of 100 million from a drug dealer...

they should make it hurt more!!!!!!!!!!
