Hi! I have a customer who would like to burn home movie files converted from tapes to DVDs playable in a DVD player. Does anyone know of a free program that I could recommend?

Thanks!

There are free programs but you still need the hardware. If you don't have a PC that's up to snuff it wont work out well either.

Why not offer the service yourself?

When you buy the hardware necessary to convert VHS to DVD, well, let's just say I've never heard of one that didn't come with the software to make (at least) a video file, if not burn it right to a DVD.

Thanks everyone! I currently have an internship and am not running my computer business for the most part but wanted to help my customer out by suggesting a piece of software and possibly helping her use it remotely.

She paid a company to digitize the files but did not pay to have them burned.

I've used Sony's DVD Architect. It feels like a more modifiable version of Windows DVD Maker.

Well, in that case, why overlook the free "Windows DVD Maker"? It's user-friendly enough for the grandparents.

+1... used this a lot with some jobs that come in a while back. prefect for simple editting

I agree Windows DVD Maker is limited but my father likes it because it’s simple to use.
