Last week I was trying to download some drivers off the packard bell website but was getting a speed of around 30kbps, and waiting for a 60mb file, which is just silly. I found a free program called 'Free Download Manager' (it's open source 
) which enabled me to download the file in a minute or two. It acts abit like bittorrent in the way it downloads chunks of the file at the same time.
