First I wanted to say thank you to everyone that respond to my website post. Bad week led to bad attitude on my part. Not an excuse just the reason. I will be updating (meaning starting over) my website over the next few weeks.

Anyway to the real reason I posted here. After the website update I plan to post these flyers around town. I have read flyers don't always pay off, but I can get them printed for next to nothing. Should I make any changes to this flyer? Their is some white space next to the acrbo logo, should I put something there?

And yes I did use a couple flyers from here for examples of wording, etc.

looks good. The word perdicament is misspelled. I'm no expert in graphic design, but if you're concern about the whitespace near the ACRBO logo maybe you could rearrange the bottom to balance out the whitespace so that it does not look overcrowded.

Whoops thats what I get for doing this at 2:00am.
Thanks for the input.

Also to answer your question, I can get them for the price of the material they are printed on because I have a friend who owns a small print shop.

I like it. I might move the "locally owned" text down next to the ACRBO logo to fill that space, but that's about the only change, and that's a personal preference.

The overall layout is good and I only see a couple of touch up things that would improve the flyer. Make sure that the margins are even all around the flyer and you might try putting a wee bit more white space between the guy's head and where it says, " Internet Inconsistent?"

Its a little rough and bland in certain areas.

I like the picture, I think its a good starting point and positioned well on the flier.

The biggest issue seems to be the text. They are stacked on top of each other in a way that makes it hard to read and makes it look messy.

As already mentioned, you need more white space between the guys head and the text.

Also, I would not do white text with black outlining, just because it makes it a little less readable.

JL Computer Solutions would probably look better centered or left aligned. I know why you aligned it to the right, but with everything else, it looks messy.

Instead of asking questions like "laptop lifeless" "PC Predicament" keep it simple and just list the most common services.

Your general contact information is also very condensed and messy. Get rid of "For More Information" Its not needed, everyone knows to call you if they need more information. Just leave the number

Again, skip "or visit us on the web" its not needed

Those two things will help to free up some space and keep your contact info area simple

One other suggestion I can give you is to give us 3 different concepts. That way we critique each and pick things about each that we like. That will give you a better idea and more options.

I agree with PCX concerning the white text. Maybe it just doesn't translate as well because you lowered the graphics quality. It just seems hard to read.

Also, I can appreciate what you were going for with the "console characters" theme, but unfortunately if you don't apply that type of theme to the entire flyer, then it just looks like mis-formatted text.

Those of course are minor suggestions and I think that the flyer serves it's purpose well. Good Job.

It does look a bit better in full quality but it was a 17mb file. Decided that was overkill for proofing.

I started with the white outline text because that is what I use for my logo. I am not saying it needs to stay that way but that is why it is there. I agree after looking at this more today that it is crowded in a few areas. I will drop the image of the guy down a few sizes and try to give a bit more space.

Thanks again everyone.

Not a fan of the free diagnostic offer. It won't move people to call since most places give a free diagnostic. You need a compelling offer, and you need to make it time sensitive to get them to act. No more than 45 days, though I prefer 30 days. Maybe something like "Virus removal for $40. Good through June 15."

Depends on your area I guess. I only know of 2 shops in my area (including surrounding towns) that offer free diagnostics. All the other shops charge for a diagnostics if the customer does not get their computer repaired. I am the exception, I charge it up front.

Anyways, your right, "free diagnostics" is not really going to compel people as much as a dollar amount coupon. In many cases, the word "free" attracts the wrong type of clientele anyways. I would also do a $ off coupon instead of a $ amount service coupon. That's just my opinion though . . . also that's the opinion of my advertisers.

free....?

Nice flyer. Looks a little too white and 'generic do it yourself' flyer like though. I would simply add a blue backgound curve over 1/3 of the paper vertically. What program did you make it in?

Re: the FREE diagnostic. This might sound strange, but we offer a free 'estimate' but not a free 'diagnostic'.

An estimate is just that, me telling you about how much it will cost. Since we have a lot of flat rate services then its kind of like asking McDonalds for a free estimate on how much a big mac would cost. They would happily tell you for free of course lol.

A complete diagnostic is a different story. When we first started out in business we offered it but that was long ago. We learned the hard way. Why would ANY business EVER perform work for free? Doesn't add up in any business model. It basically begs people to get your estimate, then take it elsewhere to get others also and then choose the cheapest one. Thats a lose-lose model. Also, if the unit is beyond repair, say laptop with bad motherboard, they will take the unit 9 times out of 10 if only to pitch it in their dumpster lol.

We charge $39 for an actual diagnostic. If its not worth fixing, then they either pay the $39 OR (and this is the magic part), we waive the $39 fee IF they recycle the broken unit with us.

Now it turns things into complete WIN-WIN. The customer leaves happy ( you just saved them $39 ) AND you throw out the motherboard BUT add the hard drive, RAM, screen, keyboard, shell, battery etc.... to your used parts stock. You will fill a spare parts room in no time like this.

We NEVER have any issues with this method. One out of 10 will actually pay the $39. And if they do, then its certainly a fair price to pay for the services we performed.

I think this is why you will find that most successful, larger shops do not do free diagnostics.

My 2 cents.

You must not have seen the new version of the flyer. I have changed the free diagnostic to a $10 off all services. Also I used Photoshop for the flyer.

I never did put out this flyer. Got busy with my actual job and just didn't want any more work than I already had.
Anyways here is what I think can be the final version of this flyer.
Please let me know what you think.
