I've been growing through word of mouth and web presence but this year I really want to hit the local small business market with a vengeance. I'm happy with calling in on and phone around businesses but I've not got much in the way of professional-looking sales literature to send or hand over.

I think I need 2 pieces: one to sell the overall services and the other to outline and sell the support contracts.

What sort of literature are you guys getting success with? Flyers, PDFs or just sales letters? Did you do them yourself or get them done up professionally?

Any examples would be most welcome so I can start to get a picture in my head of what I need to design! :)

Do you work with any type of RMM providers? Sometimes they have things you can use for adverting.

When we start our cold calling to businesses we are going to hand out flash drives, external hard drives, etc.

My previous experience working in this capacity is that giving the client something exponentially increases the results. Hand them a brochure and they may smile but the second you leave they throw it out. The key is getting them to actually read, which they tend to do when you give them something, even if its just donuts.

Were gonna take it a step further since we have boxes of old drives, were getting cheap enclosures with our name logo and phone number to hand out. I'll let you know how it goes.

what's an RMM provider?

remote monitoring and management tools

Some examples are
Kaseya
Zeinith infotech
Connectwise
N-Able
GFI Max RemoteManagement

This is only a small list, there are a lot of options. They are pretty much tools you use to monitor and maintain client machines proactively.

Yes some gimmicks might come in handy. The way I'm planning it at the moment is to call around the offices where I've just done business to say "I've just fixed ABC Ltd's computer a couple of offices down and I thought I'd drop in and introduce my service to you also" type of thing but I need something to hand them or send them that presents my firm in a professional and appealing manner.

Log into your GFI dashboard and click "Biz Tips" in the top right hand corner. You will find some samples in there.
