Finally Malwarebytes BLOCKS ALL ransomware attacks.

I'll never understand computer technicians love and support for a product that completes with their skills and takes money off their table. That logic just escapes me.

Okay, I'm just gonna say what probably a lot of people are thinking. What? It's a tool, and a very good one. Malwarebytes is never going to put us out of business...the jerks that code malware will see to that. When the chips are down, I want what's best for my customers. If your business model and vision is so narrow you literally feel threatened by a single product like Malwarebytes, something is very wrong.

Wow, I never said MBAM would put anyone out of business nor did I say I don't want what is best for our customers. I haven't disclosed my business model nor its vision. You've made many inaccurate assumptions and insulted me and in this very short comment. Obviously we have a difference of opinion about MBAM but personal attacks are hardly called for. I had a lot of respect for you until this comment and frankly I'm not here for narcissistic affirmation nor crowd pleasing so what "a lot of people are thinking" in this group doesn't really matter to me.

MBAM is still a clean up tool in my opinion and an unproven substitute for good anti-virus / malware protection. I don't share our clean up tools nor our repair procedures with our clients. If you're comfortable doing this, I see no issues with it and sure wouldn't insult you nor your business model publicly for your opinion.

Guys, can we keep any and all what can be perceived as personal attacks out of this thread and forum.

Everyone here are respected members.

We all want what is best for our clients. Whether or not that is to inform them about mbam, how to run it, or even install it on their machines is down to each individual member and business owner.

I certainly don't want to start editing and pulling threads and issuing warnings.

Keep it clean is the message, and thank you.

My apologies. However, your initial post had a faint whiff of condescension about it, i.e. that those of us that use and appreciate Malwarebytes are essentially suckers somehow, just giving away money. I think that vibe is what ruffled feathers a little. I'm still trying to understand what you were trying to say exactly...? How does it "take money off the table"?

Personally I don't usually instruct my clients on how to use stuff like Malwarebytes or CCleaner or similar unless they ask (and they usually don't). Even if they do, they very often won't remember anything I tell them, and I don't think it's entirely wise for them to start fooling with them blind. But if they specifically ask, I'm not going to act like it's a state secret. They are not going to open up Virus-Removals-R-Us one week after I show them how to use MB. Being open with clients makes them feel validated, and that leads to trust and trust leads to referrals. Simple as that.

As a product, I don't see Malwarebytes as a solo solution, and I don't think testing or treating it as such is really fair. My long-standing perception has been that it wasn't really designed to be the only protection on a system (and I think any other impression is just marketing). But it's a great second line of defense. It gives the official antivirus on the system just a little bit of extra coverage. These days every little bit helps. As for cleanup--is it the perfect cleanup tool? No, but nothing is. Unless you're going to do every single removal by hand, it's often still the best tool to start with. It gives you a good idea of what you're dealing with and helps you figure out whether the infection is light or rather severe.

Sorry for jumping on you @inbargains, maybe I misunderstood where you were going with your argument.

So that is windows 10 with no av and defender turned off? Interesting I guess I wouldn't put too much trust in Ransim after seeing that result.
