Hello everybody!

I have just completed my new website layout - Http://ctrlzmypc.com

My old layout had too many colors and was a bit too cluttered. Hopefully by removing the scroller on every page, and only limiting it to the home page, it takes away from some of the clutter.

This template was hand coded by myself, and the basic framework was the default WP theme. Also, I have been working on making it responsive to mobile and smaller browsers. I am not 100% complete with that yet, but am working to get there. Transferring everything EM instead of PX and making it transition smoothly between screen sizes...

If you guys have any suggestions, feedback or comments, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

it looks really nice but I was surprised to see such a lack of content under "our services" nav menu item.

Personally I think you would get more interaction with the site if you include pages for the services you offer

this will also help with SEO.

Your home page could also have more 'sales' content. Notwithstanding what I said above, a lot of customers will make their buying decision based solely on where they land on your site (usually root page) for this reason there should ideally be more 'hooks' to get them to ring you or navigate deeper to get the information they are looking for about your services.

I understand your thinking if you are moving away from a 'cluttered' model, but too minimalistic can also be a mistake.

I like it. It's clean, the slider doesn't consume the entire page, and the overall appearance is impressive. The 'white-everywhere' scheme makes it a little tough to look at for a long time, for me anyway. Maybe add some color bars or accents? And I agree with 16k, more items in a drop down under the current menu bar would be good. Personally, when I see one menu item with a drop down list, but only on, it seems like the others are missing something. Its hard to nail down, but it just makes the page feel incomplete to me.

Nice looking site. Two quick comments:

1. An alternative to adding more items to the drop down, would be to eliminate that as a menu, and just have those items be buttons, since the services one is the only one that drops down. Then, add a section on the website design, with a link to the full page of information.

2. Minor issue here, but it jumped out at me. The standard abbreviation for states is to use two capital letters. ie - VA instead of Va.

Brian.

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback. I added back the separate pages for each service. I had that on my old website, but hardly any traffic was going to them, most like you mentioned, were hitting the home, services main, or contact us sections. A few times hitting the about us and the prices pages, but rarely the sub-services pages.

I am still trying to work out how to make the main page pop more like you mentioned. I was thinking about changing out the company information box on the main page with some kind of call to action to contact us? I dunno...

I like it.

I like the layout. It's simple, clean, effective. I don't know about the wood background, seems kinda misplaced. For the Our Services and Our Prices page, maybe you can implement them as one? I don't think you need an entire page to tell me that your prices are $40-55 an hour. If I was one of your clients I would be annoyed that each and everyone one of your services directs me to another page just for the price. Kinda makes me feel like im being strung along. ONE more thing. I've never been a fan of home pages with cheesy smiling ladies with headsets. Doesn't seem genuine and how seriously I take the site plummets at that point.

That's my 2 cents. Overall great site :)
