Is it possible to generate a list of folders a user has access to on the server without going through them all manually? I have been asked to see what folders one employee has access to but I really don't want to do it manually.

I believe https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/accesschk.aspx should do it.

Depending on how large the company is, varonis might have a good solution and provide a means for automated ongoing permissions auditing

It looks like it will need to be a paid app as I could not get Accesschk to work on the mapped drive even after trying several commands I found through Google

Mapped drive? Aren't you supposed to run that ON THE SERVER itself?

I will try it again but one of the examples I found was for a mapped drive and they also used a UNC path

No such examples exist on the Sysinternals help file. The way AD works it couldn't be done that way unless you were logging in as an Administrator AND the server had Remote Managment enabled.

Right, I was being thick yesterday somehow but it worked locally and then managed to get it to work on a mapped drive letter. Thanks for the help
