[WARNING] Fake Websites for Keepass, 7Zip, Audacity, Others Found Pushing Adware

The key question is how well the fake sites are ranking in google. It can be real easy to search for 7zip and if the fake site has better SEO then bang you get pwnd.

Everytime I get knowledge of such an article I wonder how difficult it is to only use secure websites for downloads. If I want to get piece of microsoft software (okay, bad example, I do NOT want to get any microsoft software) I won't go to zdnet. If I want to get a firefox I won't go to freesoftware-downloads-after-registering-and-then-have-to-pay-for. From my point of view it needs neither a high school grade nor black magic to find the secure distributor of a piece of software by just making logical thoughts before using the left mouse button.

When looking for software, and faced with the choice of these two websites - free-software-4-U.com or company-that-actually-makes-it.com - most people will click on the first one because of the word "free."

If you have a look through your clients favourites you'll be amazed at where they get their software!
