Looks like big online retailers are getting hit by people trying to sell fake video cards from China had a new system in customer asks if i would install a new video card i looked it over made in China plain white box in bubble wrap alarms went off in my mind.
I told him that this card is a fake prob from Wish.com from looks of it i told him i will put it in but i am not responsible for any damage it might cause so i put the video card in turned it on a shower of small sparks flew out from the vram i had my finger on power supply switch and turned it off.
I pulled out the video card and put in my test bench video card the machine booted with no issues told him to get a refund from Newegg and told him to stay away of any video card that does not have a recognized brand name.
