Hi, I just wondering, is it safe to use Fab's to restore files to a laptop that already has some user files in it? I don't want to risk the backups overwriting any of his existing files.

Not tried it yet, just email them and ask.

Just as an aside for those thinking about buying it I noticed the tech licence can be used multiple time for the same company and not infringe the licence. :) So you multiple tech companies fill your boots. :) great value.

Apparently its ok, I used it the recover my client's old data to another laptop he has been using for quite awhile, he didn't call to say anything was gone! I do wonder how it handles favorites, if adds duplicates or what.

Couldn't you take your bench machine, manually backup the Favorites and then run Fab's to back up only favorites and then running it again to restore them?

If it's unchanged, then it works like a charm.

Come to think of it, it doesn't create duplicates of the default favorites that most people seem to leave in their Faves and would be on a clean install.
