So I installed exchange, made 2 databases and a public folder db... Was working fine for hours...I did a lot of server updates, rebooted and now all workstations say d/c on outlook.... Rebooted server etc.. Any ideas?

If you can ping the Exchange server on, we know it is on the network. I'm guessing maybe an update mess things up. Was working perfect before the updates. Did a reboot and it is acting up. Sounds very strange.

Does OWA work?

Does activesync work?

I would consider shutting the DC and the Exchange server down, rebooting the DC and logging in, then bringing the Exchange server back up and logging in.

There are 3 commands you should always run on the exchange shell to let you know whats going on.

test-servicehealth
test-replicationheath (not important unless replicating)
get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus (not important unless replicating)

The first command should put you in the right direction.

You didnt specify a version. These commands are for Exchange 2010. I am also assuming your running all roles on the same server plus a DC?
