If every password you typed on your computer was copy and pasted from a file into the log-in window of an account somewhere (instead of typed) wouldn't this evade keylogger software on your computer?

Yes and no, mostly no. It depends on how sophisticated the keylogger software is. I have tried a few keyloggers (commercial, intentionally installed) and of the two I tried, who's names evade me, they captured the clipboard contents on Copy and Paste Events.

wikipedia (Under Related features):

Clipboard logging. Anything that has been copied to the clipboard can be captured by the program.

This has capabilities far beyond simply logging keystrokes:

as does this:

SO, I wouldn't rely on copy paste to be secure, as I would imagine most malware or virus writers are usually intent on gathering all they can.

No because many keyloggers will grab text thats copied to clipboard....i guess if you were to say...copy parts of the text in different order and paste them into the right order that would work =P
