Perhaps if he upgraded to say... the latest version it would be detected? I believe they are on 11 now. Eight was what, several years ago?

no there still on version 10. version 11 will be released in a couple days. but yes you should update to version 10 or 11 i do believe that version 11 will be it for a while from what the devs have been talking about.

Well I haven't kept up on fedora for quite a while. However they usually do include things in the updates and new versions that make it worthwhile most of the time.
